"Highly recommend the Westin Palace"

A great location, the Westin Palace is within walking distance from everything - Milano Centrale train station, the Duomo, shoppping. The hotel itself is beautiful. We arrived, were upgraded to a jr. suite with a view of the Duomo!
The room and bath were spacious (especially noteable in Europe), quiet and spotless! The air conditioning was certainly needed and cool. Each evening there was turndown service, candies, and a complimentary bottle of water (the mini-bar is a fortune!). As usual, the Westin Heavenly bed was indeed heavenly, and the bath products smell delicious! The front desk and consierge were extremely helpful with directions and recommendations. (For example: it costs 85 Euro for a taxi to the airport - though they will bargain - but you can take a bus from Milano Centrale for 8 Euro! We were happy to take their advice; it was easy and direct!)
The hotel has a lobby bar which is really a nice spot for an afternoon prosecco, beer, etc. They serve a little platter of nuts, chips, and delicious -really delicious- huge green olives with the drinks. We also had good melon and proscuitto, salad caprese and a grilled ham and cheese sandwich there - all good. Breakfast was pricey and the buffet was nothing to rave about, but the location is convient; the hours did not match ours and so we only ate there once (7 - 10:30 am and they take away the food AT 10:30 so.....). We ate dinner one night on the terrace restaurant off the mezzanine; it was okay; we had better meals at other places that the front desk recommended. (Try Brellin in the Navagili section - osso bucco was perfect!) The convience, however, of eating in the hotel was nice and the atmosphere was lovely.
I would certainly recommend this modern hotel with a real old world charm to anyone traveling to Milan.

"Enjoyed my stay"

I am in the middle of my 2nd week at this hotel.
Room the first week was excellent, had view looking downwards the Duomo. Room 415.
The room this week looks onto an internal courtyard and I cannot see the sky without opening the window...Room 309.
Having said that the room is a good size and away from the elevator and thus v. quiet.
Gym and steam room are good-I use them everyday.
Staff are very pleasant and helpful throughout the hotel.
Location is great, the nearby Metro and also the number 1 tram have you in the Duomo area in a few minutes.
I have already booked 2 further weeks at the Westin and hopefully I will get a nicer room for the next 2 weeks!

"Beautiful Hotel"

We stayed at the Westin for 2 nights (16th - 18th July). I was very impressed with the speed of booking in and the politeness of the staff. The room we were in was a classic double room with a super king size bed. The view overlooked the entrance and busy road but we could not hear any traffic. The room was very clean and spacious and the air conditioning wooked a treat as it was 35c outside.The terrace on the 8th floor was superb if you just wantedto chill out. We did'nt eat in the restaurant as we took the advice of a previous reviewer and had breakfast at the Bella Latte ( 5 min. walk to the left of the hotel). We found plenty of restaurants on the main street that offered a good selection of food.All in all we really enjoyed our stay at the Westin and would recommend this hotel to anyone. If you don't stop there you will really miss a superb hotel.

We checked into the hotel for one night, as we had a cruise to catch in Savona the next day. We arrived to the hotel at about 11:30AM and they had a room available, and then they upgraded us for free which was very nice. The room was great, luxurious amenities and furnishings.

Stayed at the Westin Milan in early Feb 09. After flying into MXP, we took a train and subway to the hotel. Subway stop is about 150 m from the hotel. The hotel is centrally located and close to shopping, Duomo, Last Supper but not really within walking distance of much except some shopping.
Front desk staff was very courteous and cordial. Even though we booked through a discount website, they upgraded us to an executive room. Perhpaps the most opulent room in which I have stayed. Comfortable bed, great bath.

A typical Westin Palace with the super comfy Heavenly Bed. Has everything you need from a 5 Star hotel. The room we stayed was a deluxe queen and was rather on the small end. Furnished in a classical way to resemble a palace room like others locations of the Westin Palace.
Location is perfect at the Piazza Republica with the subway and street car literally at the door of the hotel. Also very close to the train station. You can walk to Duomo and the theater Scala in about 15min. Not many places to eat around the hotel that are accessible by foot. Concierge is very knowledgeable about Milan and will definitely help you find what you really want.
