Already upon arrival we were welcomed very kindly by the door man and bell staff. We arrived with our own car. Check in was flawless and efficient. We had a suite on the 12th floor - superb. The views are amazing. the suite had also a Hammam - a pity that it was too warm outside to go to Hammam but it looked great. The suite was very spacious with a big sleeping / living room area, a large marble bathroom, shower room and the famed hammam. In particular the breakfast restaurant was great - the associate who served us was so kind and courteous - it was a plesure to start your day. They have also Westin Heavenly Bed - which celebrated 10th anniversary this year the staff told us. They told us that you can also buy it online - have to try that out!!! Overall it could not have been a better stay. We can recommend anyone to stay there.

Huge rooms with excellent Westin Heavenly products. If you can swing the price, it is very comfortable and very quiet. Staff was very accomodating to offer us the use of the spa when we arrived at 7:30 a.m. to shower and change as a room was not ready. Rooms were quiet and very nicely appointed. It could be a bit closer to the Duomo and shopping areas, but it is still within walking distance.

The hotel is a bit outside of the historical center, but it's a 15 minute walk or quick taxi ride. The value is very good for being in the city and being at such a quality hotel. You would have to pay double for a worse hotel in the historical center. So for value, cleanliness, and service, look no further.

We loved this hotel. We went for our honeymoon, they upgraded us to a grand deluxe room, it was really beautiful and comfortable. Great location and great service. If you want anything, simply press the 'express service' button and you'll have it in minutes. We also loved the day spa downstairs and the 'heavenly' beds!

We checked into the hotel for one night, as we had a cruise to catch in Savona the next day. We arrived to the hotel at about 11:30AM and they had a room available, and then they upgraded us for free which was very nice. The room was great, luxurious amenities and furnishings.

Stayed at the Westin Milan in early Feb 09. After flying into MXP, we took a train and subway to the hotel. Subway stop is about 150 m from the hotel. The hotel is centrally located and close to shopping, Duomo, Last Supper but not really within walking distance of much except some shopping.
Front desk staff was very courteous and cordial. Even though we booked through a discount website, they upgraded us to an executive room. Perhpaps the most opulent room in which I have stayed. Comfortable bed, great bath.

A typical Westin Palace with the super comfy Heavenly Bed. Has everything you need from a 5 Star hotel. The room we stayed was a deluxe queen and was rather on the small end. Furnished in a classical way to resemble a palace room like others locations of the Westin Palace.
Location is perfect at the Piazza Republica with the subway and street car literally at the door of the hotel. Also very close to the train station. You can walk to Duomo and the theater Scala in about 15min. Not many places to eat around the hotel that are accessible by foot. Concierge is very knowledgeable about Milan and will definitely help you find what you really want.

"Delivered Westin Quality"

I looked at TripAdvisor and Expedia reviews before booking the Westin. It delivered the quality I expected. The lobby area is beautiful. The staff was well trained, professional and courteous. Gian Luca, the concierge, was outstanding. We booked restaurants with him prior to our arrival and he made reservations at two outstanding, yet reasonably priced, restaurants - a' Riccione for seafood and Solferino for Italian.
We are Starwood Gold card members so we were upgraded to a Deluxe Room. It was very impressive. Furnishing, decor and amenities were all excellent. I like the location of the hotel. It's probably a kilometer to the Duomo - shopping on Monte Napoleone is closer.
The Metro entrance is located directly outside the front door and is very clean and efficient for getting around. Taxis were expensive and had some unusual fare policies (not to mention round about routes as well). We intend to return to the Westin when we visit Milan again in April.

"Quality"

We returned last evening from a short weekend break to Milan and stayed at the Westin Palace. Now to be fair, when you stay with the Starwood group of hotels you do expect a certain level as standard. The Westin Palace exceeds those expectations in every respect!
From the Porters through to the Reception and Reservation Staff front of house, The Concierge and the Manager the standard of service was simply exceptional, nothing was left to chance and the one small issue we had with a banging window on the floor above us was resolved instantly and without drama.
Modern looking from the exterior the public areas and the rooms are decorated in a style suited to the decadent Milan experience. There is a faded elegance to the hotel that we loved BUT this is a decorating style and does not in any way suggesting a lack of care or need for renovation.
Our room on the 7th floor was spacious and comfortable, the "heavenly" beds lived up to their description, the twin headed shower beat the most tortured aches into submission and the usual toiletries and robes etc were of a higher standard than in similar hotels. We WILL stay in this hotel on every visit to Milan.
As to Milan, if you have not been before be prepared, it is stylish, beautiful in parts and naturally horrendously expensive!Unless your "don't leave home without it" credit cards need a serious workout, the Via Napoleone is purely for browsing and looking good, Do not even think of paying in cash on this street unless your wallet has wheels and a handle to pull it with - or a flunky/bodyguard to carry it.
It is however hilarious to see the pencil thin perfectly dressed ladies drooling over the cakes in the patisserie mentally calculating the calorie cost of even the smallest morsel of what lies within.
The area around the cathedral is shopping paradise and the cathedral itself, il Duomo is so awesome it brings a tear to your eye.
Finally
Bravo Westin Palace, you have our thanks and our recommendation
